PT Kaltim Prima Coal (“KPC”) is located in the region Sangatta, East Kalimantan, Indonesia that operates the largest open-pit Mining in the world and engages in coal mining and sales for both domestic and international customers from various industrial sectors.
In January 1, 2022, KPC obtained a Special Mining Business License (IUPK) from the Indonesian government to conduct exploration, production, and marketing of coal in an area spanning 61,543 hectares in Sangatta and Bengalon, Kutai.
KPC produces 4 (four) types of coal: Prima, Pinang, Melawan and KPC 4200.
In 2023, KPC recorded a total coal production (saleable) from Sangatta and Bengalon mines reaching 53.6 million tons, a 9% increase from 49.2 million tons in 2022. This production is supported by coal processing and delivery facilities with a capacity of 60 million tons by the end of 2023.
